For educators in public and private schools, or non-traditional settings, a teacher’s packets or teaching trunk can be sent to your site. The trunks are assembled with a focus on bears, wolves, or a combination of the two. They contain artifacts, DVDs, books, activity suggestions and lesson plans. The teacher’s packets contain a CD-ROM with sound files, data, graphs and charts, stories, activities, and lesson plans related to bears, wolves and Yellowstone Both of these items can be made available for a nominal donation, primarily to cover the costs of shipping. Digital Education: In addition to this website, which we hope you find educational and helpful, the Center also has a Facebook page and a Twitter feed. The Facebook page is primarily to update fans and members about new happenings at the Center, and to provide tidbits of knowledge about the bears, wolves and raptors in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. Facebook fans are the first to know when the bears will be testing trash cans, what Yellowstone Park Ranger programs will be hosted, and how the newest arrivals are getting along here. You can either search for us on your own home page, or you can follow the link on our website. To follow our twitter feed, check us out at GrizzlyWolfCntr. Coming Soon: One of our current projects is building the framework for online outreach. That way, teachers from all over the world can join us for fun and educational activities. Best of all, they won’t have to travel here to do so! For more information about any of our outreach or education programs, please call us at (406) 646-7001 or email us at education@grizzlydiscoveryctr.org Click here for a PDF version of our Education Brochure. | |
