Connect your students to wildlife and wild places. For educators in public and private schools, or non-traditional settings, a teacher’s packets or teaching trunk can be sent to your site. Both of these items can be made available for a nominal donation, primarily to cover the costs of shipping.
Are you an educator? Are you looking for resources to help you teach your class about bears, wolves or raptors? The Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center offers educators the ability to borrow a Teaching Trunk. The trunk contains curriculum guides, books, videos, games, skulls and pelts. The trunks are available with curriculum for grades K-2, 3-4 or 5-6 and can be specifically about bears, wolves or a combination of both. Also check out our newest trunk on Raptors. We can even customize the trunks’ contents to meet your special needs. The trunks can be shipped anywhere in the country.
This is a unique opportunity for educators to receive a valuable tool. Our Teacher Packet CD’s are filled with all the information that your students will need to help them develop an understanding and appreciation of a fascinating species and ecosystem. The curriculum contained on the CD has been collected from a variety of sources and contributions have been made from several other educational institutions. The $10.00 donation request for the CD packet covers the cost of the CD and packet shipping.
The Raptor Teaching Trunk is a great addition to your curriculum. The trunk contains a variety of artifacts including a Bird of Prey Skull kit and model bird eggs and talons. We provide resource and study guides and curriculum, several books for different grade levels, and DVD’s. There are activities that will be a fun and educational experience for your classroom, homeschool, or camp. The trunk can be shipped anywhere across the country, and you only pay for shipping.
The programs we offer have been developed to directly correlate with our educational mission. The Center offers many onsite educational programs that are included with your admission price. The program schedule and times are printed out daily and inserted in the Today’s Discoveries that you will receive when you go through admissions. Your school or group will find the programs to be interactive, fun and educational. Take part in any or all of the programs for a memorable visit!
If you are interested in any of our Educator Resources please call the Center’s Education Department at (406) 646-7001 ext. 125 or (800) 257-2570 or email us at [email protected].
