
The Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center offers an assortment of fun and educational programs for all ages.
PLEASE NOTE: All programs are not offered daily.

Naturalists are available throughout the facility to answer any questions.
Twice daily, kids ages 5-12 will learn about the bears at the GWDC and their care, and help animal keepers hide food in the habitat when the bears are not there. Kids complete a 10-question scavenger hunt and earn an animal photo pin. Participation is $5 per child.
Kids must be signed up in person by an adult on the day of the program. SIGN UP CLOSES 30 MINUTES BEFORE THE PROGRAM START TIME. Space is limited.

Join a naturalist for a guided journey through the riparian ecosystem as the otters and trout enjoy enrichment from the keepers.

Naturalists will share best practices for staying safe while recreating in bear country and show when and how to use bear spray using an inert training canister. No bears will be sprayed.

Naturalists will share tips to find wildlife in Yellowstone, and teach safe and responsible wildlife viewing.

Throughout the day, in front of the bear viewing area, naturalists will tell the stories of the bears at the GWDC as they explore the habitat and teach people to keep food secure from wildlife.

Learn about the wolves at the GWDC, their counterparts in Yellowstone, and the enrichment activities our animal keepers prepare for the day.

From June 7 through September 12, 2026, Yellowstone National Park rangers will host evening programs at the GWDC Amphitheater from 7:00–7:45 PM. Held after regular visiting hours, these talks will explore a variety of topics, including wildlife, geology, and the history of Yellowstone.
Admission is free and open to all. The remainder of the park will be closed during the program and will reopen the next day from 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM.
