Bo, at the age of four, made repeated visits to Rainbow Point Campground near West Yellowstone, MT and accessed unsecured food. After many unsuccessful hazing attempts Bo was relocated to the GWDC in July of 2020.
Condi was born in February 2019. She and her sister Seeley arrived at the GWDC in the fall of 2019. They were relocated from the Seeley-Swan Valley in western Montana after their mother had to be euthanized due to food conditioning.
Seeley, like her mother and sister, learned to look for unsecured human food in rural neighborhoods. Seeley likes to wrestle with her sister, enjoys a variety of foods and loves the habitat pond.
Coram was named after the Montana town where he was trapped in 2011 as a three-year-old. Unfortunately, he became habituated and began boldly walking through town finding unsecured food sources.
Nakina was orphaned as a cub-of-the-year when her mother was shot and killed by a resident near the community of Delta Junction, Alaska. Nakina came to live at the GWDC in 1998.
Spirit was relocated five times to divert her desire for unsecured food near Whitefish, MT. After several failed attempts with aversive conditioning, she was placed at the GWDC in 2002 at the age of six.
The Hoodoo Pack
Bridger arrived in May of 2019 as a pup with his litter mate, Obsidian. He is the larger of the two weighing 100 pounds and has a light-colored coat and gray accents.
Obsidian has a black coat with silver highlights and is very playful. He is named after the black volcanic glass that forms Obsidian Cliff in Yellowstone.
Fossil Butte Pack
On April 30, 2020, ten-year-old Sura gave birth to a litter of puppies. While breeding animals at the GWDC has been extremely rare, management made the decision to let this one-time breeding take place.
Sura came to the GWDC in the fall of 2019 as a nine-year-old from a captive facility in Montana and has a dark gray coat.
Boulder - a large gray male weighing about 120 pounds. He has an independent personality and is frequently observed spending time by himself.
Colter – a gray male who is the most outgoing of the siblings and is seldom fazed by new situations.
Harlequin – a gray female. Harlequin is alert, playful and interactive with her brothers and surroundings.
